REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY

Rest is a good thing. Even our God rested on the 7th day of His creation. Of course His labor involved separating the sky from the land, the land from the water, placing the stars and planets in the heavens and making all the inhabitants of His creation.
To us an eight hour day can seem exhausting. Sometimes the idea of getting up to go to work is a challenge. Vacations give us the chance to replenish, renew and recharge. You don’t actually have to leave your house to take a vacation. The travel channel is loaded with beautiful and exotic places and we often “take a trip” that way.
Maybe it’s just spending time with those you love or reading a book or digging in the garden. God is often referred to as our shepherd. He provides for us. He restores us. He protects us even through death. He loves us. He leads us to where we can find rest.
God, you are the giver of all things. We are the craftsmanship of your hands. May we ever use our lives to serve you first, as you first served us through your Son.

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

    Thank you for the reminder. With retirement, it is so hard to keep track of what day it is. Our church is having services under strict rules. I think they nail you to the pew, but maybe I got that part wrong. Anyway, you are not allowed to leave the sanctuary until escorted out by an usher. What if you have to go to the bathroom?!?!?! So, obviously with my wife’s kidney failure and me taking an aggressive water pill, we don’t go. But I will take advantage, I hope, in the quiet to write some posts. We have a busy week approaching of labs and tests again.

      I will pray as you face another week of tests. I am not going inside our church as masks are required, so I sit in the car. The service is streamed through an FM station. We have others who do the same and some stay outside and sit on lawn chairs. This is all so crazy.
