ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER©
It’s early in the morning, you’re up before the sun,
You don your gear for running, before your work is done,
You run through city landscapes, press on with heart of steel,
You pass the local golf course, your senses make you reel.
As you awake and realize it’s 45 below, your brain freeze is a fact,
You’ll have to wait three months or so, to get your courage back,
You pull the covers way up high, and rest your sleepy head,
A three month nap will do the trick, so just go back to bed.
