Just think!  You’re a Christian – you’ve been freed from the grip of sin and the devil – you’re beaming in the afterglow of Easter – life is perfect – right?

Monday morning comes and you get an overdraft notice from the bank.  Your child is running a temp of 104.  Your spouse tells you he’s in love with someone else.  You receive a call from your doctor saying you have a terminal illness.

Some folks think that once you become a Christian, your life is going to be worry free, pain free and free from all the negativity that comes your way.  The truth is Christians continue to have problems.  We still get sick.  We suffer financial losses.  We bear the pain of losing someone we love.  We have relationship problems.   We suffer with depression.  We make foolish mistakes.  We lose sight of our final destination.  Perfection only comes after we die.   So what do we do in the meantime?

God doesn’t want us to suffer.  He loves us with an unfailing love that we can’t even comprehend.  We are His workmanship.  He has a plan for our lives, but that doesn’t mean our lives are going to be without problems.  Those problems may even be there for our benefit.

In fact, our problems may even become greater when we follow Christ.  He said, “Take up your cross and follow me.”  That doesn’t sound like a very appealing invitation, does it?

Fortunately, He has also promised to be with us every step of the way in this life and the next.  He holds us tight – lifts us when we stumble – gives us the courage to go on – protects us from the slings and arrows of this world – and finally carries us to eternity to be with Him in perfection forever.

Remember that He has this.  He’s God!

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.
