THE HOUSE WE WILL BE MOVING INTO ON SATURDAY
It’s been four years in the coming, but we are finally on the last leg of our move. I have resisted it, not only because of the work I knew would be involved in decluttering, but because I had grown mentally attached to the house we lived in for 24 years.
It’s funny how we hang on to things of this world. If only I would put more faith in God’s provision, but like all of humanity, I’m a sinner and don’t always put God first. When I finally agreed that a move was the only way for us to live out our retirement years, without the added stress of trying to make enough to just cover our expenses, it was if a heavy weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I had no clue what I was in for. When my mind clears and I can look back on this entire episode, I will write a book about the whole process. I’m sure it will discourage many from moving, but it will also encourage the process of giving in and moving on.
So on we go to the next chapter – one not yet written or determined – one with question marks all over the pages – one with a second, third, fourth and fifth chance of a beautiful life together. Despite the storms of our past, I’m sure that God has scripted these next few pages and it will be amazing.
So I ask for prayers that I have the energy to get everything done, the wisdom to say goodbye to past memories and build new ones, and the faith to push ahead. I know that the next house is simply a cute little farm house, built in 1885, with many upgrades, but with many good times to share with others, but it’s only a house and my true home is waiting for me in heaven.
ONWARD AND UPWARD!
It’s gorgeous. Love the colour

I think it looks to be a most lovely house Kathy—lots of welcoming character —with lots of windows allowing for lots of warming light!

It also has solid wood floors inside for resting upon. LOL. Hope you’re feeling better, BTW.

Asking the Lord to be kind and to continue to do His will in your life. Lot’s of work moving. Go slow and be confident and satisfied with your progress as time moves on. May He richly bless you.

Thanks, Jim. It has been a major work project which has consumed us for the past five months. Hope you are in the best of health.

It looks bigger than it actually is. 1200 square feet, half of what we had.

Monday morning: by now your “house” is now “home”. Blessings to you as you arrange kitchen cabinets and closets. Lots of work, of course. Exciting too! I know you are enjoying this new journey!

I think we’re going to make many memories here. It’s about half the size of where we were and it’s old like us. 1885

Wow, Nice house. It looks bigger than I thought it would. I thought you were downsizing? Can’t tell the age by the picture. Does it have lath and plaster walls in addition to the hardwood floors?

Thanks Don. It’s actually half the size of our last home. We have
Downsized more than I thought we would. The house was built in 1885 so it probably does have lath & plaster walls.

Looks nice. And still big and roomy! Sure hope it will be easier for you to keep up with. And prayers coming your way for strength and energy to get it all done! Hope it will make a peaceful happy place for you both!
