Our world is a mess. Life has little meaning anymore. Terror strikes fear into the minds of all. We worry and fret over who are leaders will be. Church attendance is at an all time low and humanity puts its trust in themselves rather than others or God. We may even think there is no hope for the world.
Take heart, dear Christians. It’s harvest time and the fields are ripe. September is half over and soon all the beauty of fall will be swept over with a white coating of snow. Is there time to do the work? Are we up to it? The seeds have been planted and now we must begin the hard work of reaping what has been sown before it’s too late.
Now more than ever, our world needs to hear about their Creator, their Redeemer and their Comforter. We can’t accomplish this great task without God. We can plant the seeds, but He’s the One who changes hearts and minds. Our obligation is to lay the ground work of the Gospel message, live by Christ’s perfect example, nurture and watch it grow. God will bring forth the fruit.
We should never underestimate the power of the Holy Spirit. Often we egotistically believe that we are the ones making a difference in someone’s life, but we are simply the sowers of seeds. The Spirit is the One who brings the seeds alive and inspires a new life in the souls of men.
Today is the beginning of the harvest. Have you planted any seeds lately?
Thanks for that reminder. I love that farm harvest photo too.
