Have you ever had one of those days when everything you planned turns out wrong? Maybe you start by getting out of bed and stubbing your toe on the bed, followed by stepping on a Lego on your way to the bathroom. You look in the mirror and see the image of your mother staring back at you and wonder how that ever happened.
You proceed to put a load of laundry in the washer and begin folding the load from the dryer. Why is there an abundance of mismatched socks? You’re glad someone thought of wearing two different kinds to set a new fashion trend.
You make a perfect breakfast for your family and each of them darts out the door before they’ve had a chance to eat it. You finish up your chores, sit at the computer and try to come up with an idea for your daily blog – nothing! Your mind goes blank. In the meantime the dog has left a surprise on the carpeting. After cleaning it up, you remember you have a doctor’s appointment in ten minutes.
You get in the car not realizing that you’re wearing two different shoes. You’re two minutes late for your appointment and are told you have to wait. In the meantime, a hysterical patient is running out of the examination room, screaming obscenities at the nurse.
The cake you baked for your daughter’s birthday stuck to the pan. You realize that the kids have forgotten their lunches and think you will be known as the worse mother in the world.
The dog has eaten your to-do list. The smoke alarm has sounded for the fifth time. You look like a zombie. The kids will arrive home any minute. The warm cookies and milk that should be waiting (as every perfect mom knows) never did get made. You broke a tooth when you stepped and fell on another Lego. You have fallen short again.
This has been a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day! We all have them, but tomorrow is another day.
Do you have a web-cam aimed at my house? 🙂 Blessings to you!

I was wondering the same thing! I don’t have kids at home any more, but it’s been a rough week with a nasty cold. Seems like everything I tried to do just got sabotoged!

Our lives can be so chaotic at times, even when we don’t have kids at home. Now that I’m 73, my biggest concern is being able to stand up in the morning. That’s the way life is I guess.

Where do those socks go? I have taken to washing them all by hand so I know where they are. And I can relate to the blank blog thoughts. Have a wonderful day. 🙂

Maybe we’ll find those socks in heaven when we don’t need them anymore. Thanks for reading and your comment!

Who invented matched socks, anyway??!
Two different shoes? That might be a problem! LOL

I know, right? Matching socks are way over rated. I have been known to wear two different shoes in my lifetime though. Thanks for stopping by!
