I COULD NEVER DENY MY JESUS!

Who would have thought one of Jesus disciples would betray him? How could those who followed Him and leaned on His every word, run away when things got tough? How could His rock solid Peter deny Him three times when He promised that he would do anything for his Lord including dying for Him?
It’s easy to sit back and judge these fellows for their inconsistent behavior, but we are often guilty of the same thing. When we set ourselves above others; when we don’t truly follow His plan for our lives; when we decide we know better than He does; when we don’t help and serve others out of love; when we pretend to be good people even though our thoughts and deeds are filled with ugliness – we are denying our Savior.
We’re as guilty as those who spat upon Him and mocked Jesus. We may think we’re doing everything right, but when push comes to shove, we can’t do any of it alone. Our sinful nature drives everything we do in life. That’s why we need His strength, His courage, His selflessness, His love and His hand guiding us through the road we’re traveling to heaven. He paid the price while we reap the benefits.

Help me, Lord to remember the trials and suffering you endured on my behalf. Forgive me for not always following your footsteps. When I am weak, you carry me. When I fall, you lift me up. My life will not be perfect until I get to my heavenly home, but I know that with you I can endure all things. Amen!

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

You have captured the deepest cry of my heart in this post. Without Him, my goodness, my faithfulness, my righteousness, is as filthy rags.

I am so glad this touched you, Linda. We are all so guilty of denying Jesus at times. It’s encouraging to know he still loves us in spite of it. Have a blessed day,
      KATHY

        Thank you, Kathy.

Today my husband and I will have our last appointment with the Christian therapist we have been seeing for the past 5 years. He and his wife are moving to another state.

Later this week we are taking our closest friends out to dinner. The four of us have been next door neighbors since early 2010, but now they are moving an hour away. This Friday is also our wonderful family doctor’s last day; he is retiring.

I know you know this already from reading my last post. I’m just repeating myself, trying to get myself to understand it. Whew — so many losses all at once! But loss comes to us all and nothing lasts forever in this world… now, more than ever, we cling to our Savior.

My husband and I both have PTSD (his from Vietnam, mine from domestic wars.) Our neighbor friends also both have PTSD, for the same reasons (Vietnam, domestic). PTSD seems to make life extra challenging, especially in times of loss. But our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us ! How awesome is that!

My heart aches for you. I know it’s hard to lose those that are so close and in tune with us, but God is going to put them into someone else’s life to help them and in turn he will find someone for you to help through their struggles. I firmly believe he has a plan for all of us. Sometimes it’s hard to understand at the moment and maybe we never will, but it is always for our good. Keep the faith. God has something amazing planned for you and your hubby. First and foremost you are a blessing to each other.
