MY HERO

th

Young girls often have a vision of a knight in shining armor coming to rescue them from the villainy of an evil tyrant and carrying them off to a kingdom that is perfectly free from trouble and sadness.  As we grow up, we soon discover that those days of chivalry are long gone and that we may have to fight our own battles in life.

Today we see that thread being woven into the fabric of our lives with “reality” TV.  It’s in our nature to want perfection.  We want bodies free from wrinkles, flab and pain.  We want hair with full body and luster – some of us just want hair.   We want jobs that will supply a steady, comfortable living – some just crave a job to pay the bills.  We want healthy relationships, respect and success.

We often look in all the wrong places for these things.  Many times we look within ourselves and believe we can do it all alone. God’s plan for our future is so much easier. The time we spend on earth is just a moment in the greater scheme of things. He promises us, in 2 Timothy 4:18, “The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”

Lord, keep my eyes focused on you. You provide the answer for all my life’s problems. You are my onlytrue hero.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.
