I wrote this last June after the completion of my children’s performance. It still fits as we close another show tonight.
Every time my little group of young, aspiring actors complete a show, it makes my heart swell with pride. Not only because of their hard work and accomplishment, but the fact that they have discovered something within themselves that they didn’t know existed.
God has blessed each of us with certain gifts – some may have the ability to be encouragers, while others possess a good work ethic. Some have the talent to be great writers, musicians, artists. There are those who reach the top rung of the ladder of success when it comes to knowledge.
All of us are capable of greatness in our lives if we look at our abilities as opportunities to express the handiwork of our Creator. The talents bestowed on us are meant to be shared. To keep them to ourselves is in fact being selfish.
Be generous with your talents. Spread them around. You will reap benefits beyond your imagination, but remember to give the glory to the one who gave them to you!
Break a leg!

Thanks, Wally. I almost did that in February , by falling off the stage!

So true Kathy. The nub of the parable of the talents is that – we do the most with even the little we have or even the little will be taken away. When people say I don’t have gifts. I say – you can write a card with just the right words. That’s as much a gift as the preacher standing in the pulpit… in Father’s eyes. We ALL have something to give. Take good care of yourself – Reuben

Just LOVE this message of sharing our talents/gifts, and giving all the glory to God. When writing my poetry, I’m always saying, “to God be the glory”. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog, and will be following. God bless you : )
