WHAT SHALL I DO TODAY?

ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER

Do you ever wake up and wonder if today would be a repeat of yesterday and the day before? Kind of like Bill Murray in “Groundhog Day.” Our lives become so routine and structured that there doesn’t seem to be room for anything else. I have days like that. As I get older, I have more of them. We become almost mechanical in our movements, in our relationships and the tasks that lay ahead. You begin to feel like a robot. You question your value. You wonder if God still has a plan for your life. One of my favorite Psalms is 139. It proves to each of us, no matter where we are, who we are and what point it is in our journey, we have been created by God for a reason. Take a moment to read it today.

God knows you, inside and out.

He knew what you would be like before you were even born.

He knows where you are at any given moment.

You can’t hide from Him.

To Him, you are a masterpiece, not a mistake.

He watches over you with a protecting love that no one else can give.

He made sure that you would survive in a dark world,

By sending a perfect substitute to be your champion.

He can turn unspeakable deeds into workable solutions.

He fights for you.

You are His child.

He is the perfect Father.

He has already planned your future, and it will be perfect.

He won’t leave you, even when it seems like He isn’t there.

Trust in His amazing love and grace.

He will show you how valuable you are.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

Thanks for this thoughtful post. My wife is very energetic and always wants to do, do, do. I retired almost three years ago and I still marvel that I don’t have to go to work and can putter all day long.

A beautiful poem and a great reminder, Kathy. I enjoy looking up through the branches of trees and seeing the light shining through the leaves. In the painting, my eye is drawn to the light in the leaves on the branches and in their reflection on the water.

  4. Amen. Paul’s painting reminds me of the eternal nature of our Creator. The more I immerse time with His Word, the blessings of His wisdom lead me in a new adventure. This reinforces His desire for me to sometimes wait with patience when it’s called for.

Patience isn’t easy for me. I find myself wanting immediate answers or solutions rather than being still and knowing that God is in control.
