I guess you could call this an artist’s selfie. Paul always said that best light comes with the dawn or sunset. The outdoor artist must paint quickly at each of these times because the light is magical as well as swiftly changing.
1ORIGINAL ART & POETRY BY PAUL T. & KATHY BOECHER©
The artist follows a journey of his own,
Travelling down the road less wandered trying to catch the light,
Searching desperately for the right subject matter,
A vagabond living in the moment, on an expedition,
He sets his easel, makes ready his paint,
A virtual studio out of the back of his truck,
He attaches a canvas, fills his palette with color, and waits,
For just the right light, just the right dazzle on the water,
Just the perfect stillness and glimmer,
And then it begins.
About atimetoshare.me
As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension.
I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog.
I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ.
My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.
I love Paul’s paintings. There is such a simplicity to them that is deceivingly complex.. This one, especially moves me. And your words reflect the emotions in it. I can feel his desperation and urgency to catch the changing glory before him before it fades.. like always his paintings and your words compliment each other giving depth to the same story.❤️❤️

Thanks for those observations, Sheryl. Paul’s paintings always left inspiration for a story or poem. Like you’re old photographs inspire your words, it has been an adventure going through his work

I am so glad you are sharing them. I feel like I know you both. Hugs, friend. I know you are still hurting and my prayers are with you.

What a beautiful “selfie”. I love the simplicity, yet deepness, in your poem. Thinking of allowing the artist, precious Paul, to begin his canvas made me think of our Creator, creating our beautiful world, and people like you and Paul, on a blank canvas. I try hard to look for beauty in this world. In its ever changing “climate” of attitudes, situations, circumstances, you always provide beauty and truth. This one of Paul’s may be my favorite (how do I choose?) because it seems to be him at his core. And Christ is your core. I love you so much, Mama K. It’s touched my heart to “see” you today,❤️🙏🏻Thank you for being you.

You are more than kind. I tried painting outdoors with him but he was so good that I decided to stay inside and paint words. We were and still are a good team.

Kathy, I appreciate Paul’s depiction of morning light. There is almost surreal atmosphere waiting to be embraced during the early light before sunrise. From an artist’s point of view, your poem captures the scene so well.
