A MILLION DREAMS . . .

My dreams leave me wondering about the contents of my brain. They’re vivid, almost real, sometimes a reflection of something memorable and often disconnected. Dreams are things we might wish for, as the world would like us to believe. Walt Disney once said, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” This adage has been adopted by many people in hopes of achieving their goals. Dreams cannot fulfill your wishes. We need to take action to get a result, so I don’t put much faith in the idea of trusting dreams.

The story of Joseph, the young interpreter of dreams, has intrigued people of all ages for centuries. Joseph didn’t always make friends when he related the meaning of dreams, but he continued to do so.  I’ve been known to have some very weird dreams which might even raise Joseph’s eyebrows or at least cause him to see to it that I get psychiatric help.

We don’t usually put a lot of stock in our dreams today, because they are simply dreams. However, God has given us the ability to fall asleep and see a story unfold as we close our eyes. Maybe the dreams will lead us to action. Sometimes they will fill us with fear. There are times when we try to analyze our own dreams instead of letting God manage our future. God invites us into His loving arms each day. He promises to hug us with His protection, to clothe us with love, hope and His forgiveness. Our dreams should not govern our lives, but we shouldn’t discount them. As we learn to accept the unconditional love of God, we can shake off the negative feelings that haunt us. Our dreams will still come. They may provide ideas, innovation, ways of helping others, but they won’t guarantee our future. Only God can do that.

THANK YOU, JESUS FOR ANOTHER DAY!

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

When I was a little boy, sometimes I had nightmares. As I grew older, I had strange dreams. Eventually, because I don’t like nightmares, it seems to me that I took some control over my dream, and nope we are not going down that path.

Now, as I have grown still older, I sometimes wake from uncomfortable dreams, and occasionally, I sit down and read the Bible before I head back to bed. But mostly my rest seems to be dreamless and untroubled, and that is the way I prefer it.

What is life? If we give ourselves to God, life is God’s dream for us. That is the best dream of all.

  2. Yes, I’m not sure what Joseph might think of my dreams. Ha ha, but I like the way you write about them!!!!

  3. Thank you Kathy. While I have no idea about the frequency and number of dreams, I feel blessed in knowing that God’s grace continues to guide my daily journey of faith.
