I HAVE RETURNED . . .

I think General McArthur spoke those same words at one time, but since I’m not him, I won’t take away his honor. I’ve been on a hiatus of sorts for the past two weeks. I felt I needed some time off and I did. We’ve had a lot to digest over the past six months or so. Paul was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer, and I had been putting my health on hold until we knew what the next steps would be. I’m happy to report that my yearly physical has indicated that I’m normal – whatever that is. All my numbers look good and apparently my heart is still pumping. There’s good news about Paul as well. He had a cancerous mass right behind his esophagus, which was twice the size it now is – without any treatment. The doctor says there is no clinical explanation for this change, but we know that God is in control. That being said, we continue living in the moment. We will take our short road trips and visit places we’ve never seen, even if they aren’t far away.

Since we are in the beginning of the Lenten season, I thought I’d share a series I wrote a few years ago. I’m using imaginary characters who might have lived during the time of Jesus’ walk here on earth. It depicts what life was like – what people were concerned about – how they made a living and what they were looking forward to in those days. The first leg of the journey starts with part one of “The Messiah is Here.”

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

Kathy , welcome back to the blog world! What a wonderful report on the cancer tumor going down to half its size behind the esophagus of Paul. By the stripes of Jesus, Paul has been healed. May the peace that passes all understanding, guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus!

Great news. I am back also. The stent on a string gets pulled tomorrow. A very simple procedure, but nothing has been simple so far with this thing.

I’m working backwards, Mama K! I’m so happy you’re here and even more excited to hear how God is working miracles in both you and Paul. I know you still have struggles. You are both such inspirations to me! Praise God! Each morning I continue praying for you both. Love, Karla

Likewise dear Karla. You are on my ever growing prayer list. I know that our God hears our prayers and allows sickness and disease so that we call on him even then.

Thank you, Mama K. I love you so much. I understand about the prayer list. My journaling and prayer time has extended to a full hour each morning. You and Paul, typically I say aloud…I have names written in a prayer journal that I pray over and share with Jesus. Jesus, so many need you! I’m so thankful he hears us! Paul talked of the “thorn in his side” (just like your Paul). In Season 3 of The Chosen, I just bawled out my eyes when “little” James asked Jesus why he hadn’t been healed. Jesus told him that not everyone gets this special “gift”. HE DOES have the power to heal, but through him, others will see HIS glory! I’m crying just typing this. That’s what God is doing through Paul and you. It’s a pleasure to suffer for him because it strengthens my communion. Also, I’m finding my laughter and joy are EVEN stronger too! Tomorrow I’ll go in for my bone infusion, treatment, blood draw, and oncology visit. My mom will go with me and stay the night too. We’re unsure how I’ll do with this new one. If you don’t “see” me, you’ll know why. But you’re always in my heart and prayers.
