A writer knows that every story consists of a beginning, a middle and an end. There’s conflict throughout as the protagonist tries to overcome the antagonist to reach his goal. In the midst of the story are various characters, who interact with each other – who push the protagonist forward or disturb his quest – ones who shape his life and guide him – ones who cause confusion. Each of the characters will affect the outcome of his adventure.
In the Christian journey, the author of our destiny, God Himself, knew us in advance of our conception. He had already mapped out the things that would shape us as human beings, long before we ever came to be. We are His children – all of us. He loves us beyond the kind of familial love of an earthly father. His love endures for ever and is totally unconditional. It is because of that love, that we ALL have access to paradise. The choice is ours, because He also gave us a free will.
As we start this new year, it’s time to recommit ourselves to walking with the Author of our destiny. He gives us the hope we need to survive the rumblings of a world gone mad. He gives us a reason to live. He refines us through our difficulties and strengthens us through His Holy Spirit.
What is your destiny? If we let God’s story play out, without trying to take the reins, our future is assured. We will inherit His kingdom and live forever in a perfect place with Him. We know the end of the story. Jesus took our sins to the cross and buried them in the grave, but He rose again to show us His power over death. Because of that, we will live forever.
“But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” Jesus Christ
I think that is the key question…”what is your destiny” with a bit of ‘how shall you be remembered’ and what will we inherit…
Amen that we shall inherit The Kingdom!!!
