Dearest, Holy, Father,
My prayers are often filled with requests for myself or those I love. Today, I wish to ask you to look on my nation with mercy. In our short history, we’ve been faced with countless difficulties and growing pains. I know that it’s meant to help us face what comes next. You’ve already determined our future. You carved a path for us to someday reach paradise. Because of your love for the world, the promise of salvation is given as a free gift.
In my lifetime I’ve seen \our United States go back and forth along partisan lines. I’ve become biased myself, when I see the games being played within our own government. I’ve lived through a few wars and seen a change in the way we treat our returning warriors. They are truly heroes, yet some don’t let them know that. I see anger filled people demanding justice in every avenue of life. Who is right? Who is wrong? Only you know the thoughts and intentions of mankind. We should not set ourselves up as judges. Only you can give the proper judgment in all things. The further we turn away from you, the more we need you..
The Constitution of our land was laid out with Judeo/Christian values. It’s now often looked upon as old fashioned and useless by some, just as your Holy Word to us has been trampled on and forgotten.
I do believe there are more than a handful of those who still live by your precepts and commandments. Since your plans are always perfect, I ask that you look on us again with compassion. You’ve seen your children followers flee from you on so many occasions, but you always welcome them back when they call on your holy name. We’re all like the prodigal son who chased the wind and wasted his fortune. Yet you are like his Father, who accepted his wayward son with open arms and joy.
As we begin another week and bring our petitions, I beg that our nation will once more be united – that we can live in harmony once more – that we can set aside our differences and look for the good in all circumstances. We can only do that with you as our guide and leader. In Jesus name I pray.
Your daughter . . .
Beautiful…
