OK it wasn’t the best movie ever, but the title was catchy. The funniest part about “The End,” was when Burt Reynolds tried to make a deal with God – promising to give Him a certain percentage of his income if God would save his life and then when things began to look better, he lessened the bargain. I wonder how many folks were praying that way yesterday.
We live in a country where a woman can run for the highest office in the land – where an African American, with little experience in government can hold that same office for eight years – and a billionaire, with no political baggage, can become President of the United States. Who would’ve thought?
It’s over at last. All the back biting, rhetoric and name calling can now be put to bed. We have experienced an exciting and often nerve racking campaign and now the results are in. The people of America have spoken. What a privilege to know that we still have that right. It may not always turn out the way we want it to, but we still have a voice.
I sat through the discussions as the polling came in last night. At last I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer so I went to bed. I know there are some broken hearts this morning, but I also know that God still has His hand on America. No matter who would have won, He is the true victor.
Now it’s time to get back to work and see how much clout our new president really has. Will he deliver on his promises? Will we see America become a great nation once more? Will we finally be able to get a good night’s sleep and renew the friendships that have suffered because of this?
Dear, God, thank you for constantly being with the people of America. We’ve strayed so far from your teachings, just as the children of Israel did in ancient days. Help us return to you and trust that you have control over this already great nation and that you indeed win in the end. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen!
We are on the same wavelength today my friend 🙂

I just read the notes from her speech and it did sound very gracious. That is a good thing.
