THE FORCE

A long time ago, in a galaxy far away . . . someone is taking the message of peace all the way to the bank.  Isn’t it interesting how the battle between good and evil continues to exist?  What’s even more amazing to me, is that people are flocking to see this movie and yet we see a decline in church attendance.

It’s apparent that the world is hungry for answers.  They’re tired of  politics, race discrimination, political correctness, terrorism, crime, sex and violence – so they turn to a fantastical galaxy where light sabers abound and even more violence and anger occur.

When things spin out of control, Americans are turning further away from the truth – looking for happiness and freedom in a place very much like the world we live in today.  There’s a war waging on the screen, between the dark side and all its evil and those who do the right things.

That same battle goes on in our lives as Christians.  We are at war with the prince of darkness and all his minions.  There may not be weird looking characters in our world, but there is an abundance of weirdness.  Our weapon is the Word of God and it carries much more clout than anything the dark side can hurl our way.

The appeal of “Star Wars” is kind of an escape from reality, but for those who really want answers for the ugliness of sin, the true Savior of the world is waiting in a humble stable – in a bed of straw – surrounded by the lowliest members of the work force of the day – being cuddled by His mother as cows and sheep sing Him to sleep. This Savior has no dark side – unlike the force George Lucas created.  He s the true Son of God and because of Him, our salvation is guaranteed.

Maybe it’s time to start searching Him out again.  May the FORCE be with you.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.
