REST IN HIS ARMS

In less than a week, the Paris government has made several air attacks on ISIS and eliminated the mastermind of the tragedy which occurred last Friday. In the meantime, our president calls for calm and not reacting on emotion. Would he say the same if it were a terrorist attack on our own country?

I have mixed feelings about the Syrian refugees. My heart goes out to those who truly were trying to escape the grip of fear and oppression, but I also wonder how many of them are coming to our country with evil intentions. I’m concerned that many are already here and could easily launch an attack.

My city is in a state of turmoil about the death of a young man shot by police – rightly so, if indeed it was a shooting based on bias. Details are still under investigation, but the media is all over it, inciting a community which already believes it has been discriminated against.

Climate change, politics, the judicial system, finding a job, care for our veterans and the homeless among us are all things that cause us to want to just crawl back in bed and never get up. We would rather bury our heads in the sand than to face all the ugliness in this world of ours – ugliness which has been perpetrated by the father of lies. He desires that we doubt the power of God. He’s been doing that since the creation of humanity.

The victory has already been won by Jesus, Christ. When He died on the cross, He took the burden of sin from all shoulders. He has overcome the world. Sin still exists and will until we reach heaven, but we can be assured that we will get there someday because of what He did.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

  1. And in Him, we who believe, move and have our being! We are more than conquerors–victorious in all things, no matter what the enemy does! God bless!

I have the same concerns about Canada re bringing in the refugees. but your post also brought this verse to mind. Luke 21:28 “…..look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
