I DON’T WANNA BE A PUPPET! i WANNA BE A REAL PERSON!

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today our children cannot imagine a place where black people weren’t allowed to use the same rest rooms as white folks; where there were schools that wouldn’t accept blacks onto their campuses; where only whites played professional sports, had the most influential jobs, or could become president of the United States.

When Martin Luther King uttered the above words, there was a deep division between black and white in our country – a division that created prejudice on both sides.

Strides were made, but it seems that in the past few years our country is again being split in two with  intolerance as well as political correctness.  How sad that we have come so far and yet fallen so far back.

A couple thousand years ago, another man made a similar statement, but His words can cut through the darkness of intolerance with an insight into man’s inequality towards each other and still give hope to a world that continues to wallow in the shadows.

John 8:12 says, “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

If we are ever to move forward – away from intolerance – and still have a voice, the only place to turn is from darkness to light.   The Light of the world – Jesus.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.
