I’M OFFENDED!

I am getting really sick of it! I’m tired of hearing that my country’s flag has become offensive to some. I’m overwhelmed that some are offended by my lack of understanding of sexual immorality. I’m disgusted that just about everything that is based on Christianity is frowned upon. I grow weary with the idea of being tolerant has taken on a whole new meaning in today’s world. I’m beleaguered by the fact that everyone else can be offended except for those of us who hold tight to Judaeo Christian values.

It all started insidiously slow. I think it began when Madeline Murray O’Hair filed a lawsuit in 1963 against Bible reading in public schools. Her newly formed Atheist movement was already infiltrating America and eating away at so much of what America believed and stood for.

Today we must walk on eggshells so we don’t offend anyone, but what about those of us who are offended by the new morality or lack thereof? What about those of us who still believe that those entering our borders legally or illegally, should learn to speak our language, go about obtaining citizenship according to the constitution, abide by our laws, not take advantage of “the system” and above all act like Americans – not building little replicas of their former homelands.

We are a nation of blended ethnicities and denominations which has always worked before because people used to have value and opportunities they just don’t have today. We are still capable of doing great things as a united nation, but that comes from mutual trust and understanding.

I have tried to quiet my voice on this topic, but my patience is running out and I believe someone once said, “beware the wrath of a patient man (or woman.) I get offended when I can’t mention my Savior’s name. I get upset when my elected officials can’t seem to get their work done. I’m offended when I have to be tolerant of every kind of behavior out there. I feel discriminated against because I’m white and because I’m old.

Jesus tells us to turn the other cheek and to trust in Him above all things. That is the only thing that allows me to have tolerance; but there are days when I’m just sick of it!

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

I recently read that a girl in school got in trouble for telling someone God bless you when they sneezed. Sure feels like endtime days are escalating…

For some reason all your comments on my blog got stuck in the spam filter- I am so sorry I never responded!
I love your honesty and I think that is so important in our walk with the Lord. Ultimately when I get offended, I do an inner spiritual check to see why I feel that way. I love the work God does in us when we are willing to be truthful and honest and filled with His love. Thank you for sharing your innermost thoughts will all of us!!!

I really don’t like to let my innermost feelings out in public like that, but I think our world has turned upside down sometimes. I know David got angry when his enemies were persecuting him. He found time to express that anger through the psalms. Usually I try to just turn it over to the Lord, but every where we go there is ugliness and pain. I know He has better things in store for us in the future. I just pray that we can wake some people up to that truth before its too late.

Thanks, Stacey. I think we all need to be a little offended at what political correctness is doing to our country.
