ORIGINAL ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER©
The season of Lent will soon be upon us, with the celebration of Ash Wednesday on February 18th. The word “Lent,” is derived from an old English word “Lencten,” which pertains to spring. The season is followed by 40 days, which seem to have great significance in the Bible. In the next few weeks, I’ll be presenting a series I wrote about the missing years between Jesus at twelve years of age, until the beginning of His earthly ministry at the age of 30. There are no actual stories about His life until then, but these segments will explain what every day was like during that time.
Those missing years of Jesus’ life were just like yours and mine,
It seems like something happened, that we should know about,
Instead, we should be focusing on God’s perfect design,
The work He did to save our souls – He shed His blood and died,
He came to save His people, to wash away their sin,
His walk on earth was brief and yet His mission didn’t hide,
He took the sting of death away with Him unto the grave,
He rose to everlasting life and so will we someday,
There is no greater love than this, He came our lives to save.
