For over a hundred years, many Americans have been relying on a rodent to predict how long winter will last. For the past forty eight years we gather together for parties to celebrate the top two football teams in the country and place these athletes on a pedestal. About the same time, four boys from Liverpool arrived in New York City and changed the way we look at the phrase, “The British are coming.”
We as a nation have changed some over the years, but it’s interesting how we have a tendency to turn to things of this world for enjoyment or comfort. The Old Testament Israelites had a habit of doing that too.
God wants us to enjoy our lives. He doesn’t want us to suffer. His love is shown in so many ways and still we rely on worldly things to give us pleasure. Malachi 3:6 says, ““For I the LORD do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.”
Lord, I ask you to continue to be the hope of my life. You are the only awesome God – the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Let me always place my trust in you. Amen

I find it interesting too, Mama K. It seems we’re always looking for the next “event” or holiday. My heart and mind have thought this a lot lately. I trust in God, Mama. I have to take my heart and mind off this earth focus. It’s hard not to get wrapped up in it–especially if extended family does. Sometimes I feel like I was born at the wrong time–or that I don’t “fit”–even with my family. I’m a dreamer. I’ve been very sick for two days with the flu. With the headaches, I couldn’t write, read, or answer texts. It put me “behind” and I started to stress. Yet, God says “not to worry”. I was worried only about “earthly” matters. We are to keep an eternal perspective just as you do. Your life, without Paul, and the grieving and hurt are shadowed by your exclamation of God’s promises and truth. Through it all YOU encourage me. I love you so much, Mama. Thank you. ❣️🙏🏼

I’m so sorry you’ve been sick. I too have been overwhelmed by all the financial details. Thankfully my grandson is moving in with me to help me maintain the house and I won’t have to move. It’s so hard to just trust that God has everything in his strong hands. For some reason we still feel we need to be involved when he has it all figured out. I’m still learning too. God us faithful all the time. Extra hugs and prayers coming to you. I love you so much 💕
