My week so far has hidden me from the outside world. First day of musical theater camp is complete and within that six hour time period, I could escape for a while from all the hub bub and bad news of the things that have surrounded us. Halleluiah!
Though physically exhausting for an old bag like me, working with children is like a breath of fresh air. When things on the outside take on a carnival appearance – with sideshows of political activity and stories of violence and hatred – it’s a wonderful thing to be able to walk away from it for a while.
Unfortunately, reality sets in when you leave that sweet world. We can’t run away from the ugliness that inhabits planet earth. It always rears its ugly head and makes itself known on a daily basis. It kind of makes me think about the future and what it holds for all of us.
We can go through life trying to hide, but our sin always catches up with us. We’re going to have to deal with it on a daily basis, whether we like it or not, However, God has made it easy for us to face some of the trials and adversities of life with hope.
Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope, without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”
We have that blessed hope, that God will never let us down, even when the world does.
Amen !!
