IT’S MONDAY – AGAIN . . .

Mondays are kind of like Ground Hog Day reruns. You wake up and it’s the same as it was last week.  I guess you could say that for Tuesday, Wednesday and the rest of the days, but Monday is a new start for most of us – a second chance at making things right or doing what we wanted to accomplish last week. When I was twenty-one, I loved the weekends.  I relished the fact that I could sleep until noon on Saturday.  I was carefree and young, but Mondays were always a reality check.  I had to be a responsible adult again.

Over years of living, weekends become precious to us, unless we have jobs that are all consuming and run right through Saturday and Sunday.  When you reach my age, the only way to tell when Monday is coming is that we go to church the day before.  The days more or less run right into each other when you grow old. Our walk on this planet was already set into motion by God during His seven days of masterful creation and a day of rest.  The calendar was determined later, but there was always order to the days, weeks, months and years.

When we wake up on Mondays, we can rejoice that we’ve lived to see another day, or we can set the pace for the week, by grumbling and complaining that we have to be responsible again.  Sometimes our walk with our Savior is like that too.  We spend Sunday worshipping, praising, thanking, and lifting each other up and then Monday comes – again.  Reality is that we don’t always follow through with the truths we were given on Sunday.  We grunt and groan.  We struggle and fall.  We face new problems every day, but if we don’t keep Jesus with us for the rest of the week, that kind of thinking can pretty present a lousy time of it.

So how do you approach Mondays?  Is it a second chance?  Is it a pain in the neck?  Is it a new beginning? Will you make lists and set new goals?  Will you thank God for blessing you with a job?  Only you can determine how Monday will set the tone for the coming week. Even when all our days run together, we can thank Jesus for another week.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.
