ORIGINAL ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER©
What happened to the days of our untethered youth.
When all we needed required only truth,
When worries were few and troubles simply unknown,
What happened from then to the life we have sown,
Our days filled with moments both frivolous and fun,
We soon find there’s nothing new under the sun,
That satisfies fully or give us complete peace,
We watch as hope dwindles and delights decrease.
The days rage by in torrents. In storms they do fly.
Joy turns now to mourning and often we cry.
Our tears fill up rivers, our moans pierce the air,
Hearts often falter, giving way to despair.
We fall before our God with old bruises and scars,
Of bludgeoning wounds which surpass all the stars.
Without question God finishes work He’s begun.
Our youth then returns as the victory is won.
We come to Him broken and hanging onto life,
We come when we no longer can bear the strife.
When we finally let go and let God do His best.
Through Jesus our Savior we pass every test.
He gives us new life even though we are old,
Our time weathered bodies completely unfold,
Into perfectly formed and beautifully made,
He washes with blood for my sins He has paid.
Our new life comes quickly. The old passes by,
And we become new on the day that we die,
The breath comes from heaven and God’s only Son,
Old bodies renewed, His work is now done.

I do so love your poetry! So encouraging and uplifting in your conclusion while honestly acknowledging the struggles/questions. ❤ and hugs!
PS the palette colors in Paul’s painting are gorgeous!

Thanks again. I need your encouragement since this is fairly new today me. I’m not following the iambic pentameter rules so I’m probably not a true poet, but I’m glad you appreciate it.😍😍
