MADONNA & CHILD – Wood Sculpture by Paul T. Boecher, with poetry by Kathy Boecher
The sculpture was done several years back. The weathering of the wood has created a crack that goes down the side. How lovely that the sign of the cross has appeared within this piece.
MARY’S FAITH
A child just turned a woman, became the chosen one,
To hold the Son of God within – to be her firstborn Son.
She wasn’t someone special – a lowly servant girl –
But God had special plans for her and also for the world.
Through Mary’s contemplation of this exalted state,
She knew that God would come to earth to wipe away all hate.
To bring to man forgiveness from every single sin.
Fulfill His word of promise and make us clean within.
As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension.
I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog.
I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ.
My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.
Kathy, what a beautiful poem of our precious Mother Mary. It states it all. Please tell Paul the sculpture, and the sign of the cross, is exquisite. Sending you love and prayers always. 💕🎄🥰🙏🏻
Amen! Mary’s journey of faith lights up in these verses. Thank you Kathy for writing these as well as sharing Paul’s wooden sculpture, which says so much.
The simplicity of the sculpture is so beautifiul. This is the first year I noticed the cross which was hiding in the wood for a while. I’m glad you like both art and words..

I'm a retiree in his seventies. That may not be significant to many, since there is a bunch of us Baby Boomers around. However, in the year 2,000, when I received a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, I expected to be dead in three to five years.

I had not noticed the cross until this year. I mentioned it to Paul and he said that’s what he loves about carving wood or any kind of art. Hod always
