WHAT TIME IS IT?

Well, here we go again. Slaves to the guy who switches out the clocks twice a year. It seems we’ve been hearing about this time change to daylight savings for days now. The hype is exactly that – hype. I’ve discussed my thinking on this whole debacle over time, but it really has gotten quite amusing. The fact that my car hasn’t been driven much since November, I didn’t change the clock on the dashboard. In fact, it won’t be necessary now, so I feel like I’m ahead of the game.

However, when I woke this morning at 5:50 AM, I thought the time had already changed and it was really 6:50 AM. I then realized I was looking at my phone for the time and it wasn’t Sunday yet – so I went back to sleep until 8 AM. Tonight, I will change all the clocks on the various appliances. We have one old fashioned clock in the kitchen which still uses numbers and a dial to tell time. The battery ran out recently and I decided to take care of changing it tonight. It’s been 8:45 for about a month.

I keep trying to figure out why this whole thing got started and apparently it was designed for farmers to have more daylight to get their chores done. It’s kind of nice to have days that last until 10 PM, but for now we will have to wait a while for that. In the meantime, will it be dark when I wake up tomorrow for church? Most likely. For us Minnesotans, we get used to long nights from November to June. All of this is almost too much for an old lady who is already living on borrowed time.

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ.     I hate – like dislike intensely – this clock moving time! I don’t move the dash clock either. That might not be smart, however.

    My vote is for keeping the same time all year. Losing an hour of sleep causes health issues, such as heart attacks, stroke, and fatal car accidents increase for a couple of days.

    Kathy, thank you for reminder! I have a HUGE clock hanging that will display the correct time when I wake up. I wish they’d leave the time alone. I’m sure it served its purpose at one time. We change EVERYTHING in this country~language, laws, politics, but we can’t get rid of this? I pray for you and Paul everyday my sweet friend. I’ve had challenging conversations with others that are seeking truth. I’m also challenged by a leader right now that is expecting more per “The Lord’s message” for me. This bothers my heart ❤️. I’m only operating in truth and tomorrow, the truth will not have changed, unlike the time. ❤️💛♥️ love you, Kathy.

      The truth will never change because God is true and consistently so. Hang in there. Hang tight to what you believe in as I know you will. Thanks for your prayers. Paul is getting stronger each day and we both know that Gods plan for us will be revealed and it will be good. You’re in my prayers too, sweet Karla.

    One of my daughters wondered out loud this week why some politician doesn’t center a campaign around the promise to end DST. Can you imagine how popular that person would be? J.

    I just read this after Springing forward. Do you think the Sunday school class would mind starting an hour late? Most of them went to the early service anyway… No, I am on time. Just sleepy even though I went to bed very early.
