THE LILIES OF THE FIELD

ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER ©

When fears and worries are so real,
We sometimes wonder why we feel,
The pangs of deep depression.
The weight’s extreme – we lose all hope,
Our hearts grow sad – for strength we grope,
To lighten this progression.

We look within and try to cope
There are no answers in our scope
It now becomes oppression.
We try so hard to rise above,
We search in vain for any love.
To deal with this obsession.

We cannot do it on our own,
We need one advocate alone,
To bring our full confession.
God takes our hand and leads us out,
Relieves our pain – our fear – our doubt.
He is our best possession.

His love is great – it sees us through
When there is nothing we can do.
Our words hold no expression.
He lifts us from the pit of death.
He died for us to give us breath.
To wipe out our transgression.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

Kathy, I needed this today! God bless you my friend. You’re words soothe like honey. And oh, the lilies. It makes me want to sing Dottie Rambo’s “Consider the Lilies”….they don’t toil nor spin. 🎶 ❤️💛💚

Kathy, as I read your reply I was sitting at Subaru while car received new tires and service (yay!) but there’s a “boo” too. There were 10 of us in waiting room. All wearing our masks. A gentleman, I’m guessing near 80, started choking, gagging, and coughing. People looked at him. This continued about 2 minutes. He was becoming very red and hot as well. My heart was bleeding for him. I jumped up and ran to him and said, “Sir, can I get you a water?” I was so worried. How could I help? I got him the water and he thanked me as I stood by him to make sure he would be ok. Literally all other 9 people stared at us. I looked around thinking I was in the twilight zone. And I could feel the tears coming. I went back to my “corner”. EVERY individual but one had their heads in their devices. Ages 20-75 I’m guessing. What a sad time. I had been talking to my son, who has COVID-19, in his Air Force Base and I couldn’t help but cry more. I’m so thankful for a God that is preparing a heavenly home and for the angels, like you, he has here. This is another reason I needed this. Thank you. Love and blessings, Karla 💛

My heart was breaking as I read this. I’ve had a similar situation only I was the near 80 gentleman. I still go out to do my grocery shopping and abide by the mask mandate. I also have Copd and it’s difficult to wear a mask because of breathing issues. As soon as I put one on I start coughing and almost always get nasty looks from people. It is difficult for many of us to follow this protocol so we try to get things done quickly which causes more stress and trouble breathing. That man was so blessed to have you there at just the right time. You were his angel. Unfortunately folks have gotten so used to cocooning, they’ve lost their common sense and compassion. So sad. I’ll keep your son in prayer as well and thank God for people like you.

Thank you, Kathy. I knew you’d understand and relate to this situation. I just read read all the beatitudes in Matthew. I think I need to remind myself of these daily. Thank you for being a prayer warrior. Love, peace, and hugs to you both. ❤️

  3. Amen! Kathy, the progression of the verses builds and builds with a blessed ending. Our lives seem a bit easier in our journey when we walk the high ground with the Lord.
