Things have been a little crazy for the past year or more. We’re all ready to throw in the towel on all this COVID19 invasion. Things are beginning to open up at a record pace. Gotta get all those summer events scheduled and bringing in the bacon again. Certainly the bars need to open up. Happy hour via the internet is just not the same. Restaurants, schools, theatres, concerts, all the stuff that’s been in suspended animation for more than twelve months is opening up again. Not too sure how I feel about that.

I’ve had both of my vaccinations. I had a reaction about a week after the first shot. I’m alway delayed in my reactions to things. I had a terrible headache, body aches and was nauseated. The second shot seemed like a breeze. I had it early in the day so was able to hold two Zoom meetings without any trouble. The next day I slept for eight hours. So I thought that was my reaction to the second. However, two weeks later, I’ve developed all kinds of side effecs. I’m not sure it’s from the vaccination or my yearly allergies coming back at full force. Whatever it is, I’m coughing, sneezing, itchy and in need of some vitamin D.

This morning I heard on the news (I don’t generally watch the news anymore for obvious reasons) that variants of COVID19 are popping up all over the United States and that the drug companies are scrambling to adjust the vaccines to cover all those mutations. You have to hand it to that crummy little germ. It’s a fighter. If one thing doesn’t work, they step up to the plate and offer another version of themselves. Too bad we don’t have the same ability to fight like that.

So todayI sit at my computer. I’m supposed to attend an in person meeting, but don’t want to cough on everyone. The need to gather is at an all time high. We need each other more than anything. Maybe this push to get things back to normal isn’t such a great idea after all.

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on

  1. I had shot number 2 Saturday and by that night I was sick as a dog— same song, second verse.
The fever, et el, lingered throughout Easter but it was not as “intense” as reaction one!
However I think I was getting another round of sinus crap as now I have a full blown sinus infection and cold— coincidence? Who knows— I’m just ready to feel better!! So now, no more shots- to hell with the talk of boosters etc— I gave the Gov’t and CDC their chance —
I’m done —got the sticker and I’m ready to move on— let’s open life and take our chances!!!!

  2. My wife and I are still playing the “lottery” to find a time slot for our vaccinations. I agree with you Kathy that reopening everything up all at once may not be the best strategy.

Covid deaths #3 last year – shut the world down. Heart deaths #1 – we live with it. Some of us will live and some will die. Year by year. Science on covid – too inconsistent to lose sleep and livelihood over.
