A BIG FAT CHESS GAME

“We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.  You must be, or you wouldn’t be here.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

I’ve refrained from the impeachment insanity for some time, because I refuse to be part of it.  To me the entire “historical” event is nothing more than a big fat political chess game.  Chess is a game of strategy and requires quick thinking, moves that will conquer, looking ahead, looking back and the use of brain power which will outthink the opponent.

In the process of these hearings and now the trial, we’ve been exposed to much of the same.  The public is getting tired of all of it, but we need to be careful in our thinking.  Like the giant chess board, we could be up against a future that eliminates our voice through our choice in an election.  If the wrong move is made it could be a critical mistake.  Whether our president is impeached or not, future elections are at risk.  If he is re-elected, we will be witness to more and more of these investigations.  The people want it over with.  That may be the final strategy.  I believe we’re smarter than that.

Both sides of this never ending battle are cheating the American people of their voice.  These learned men and women seem to enjoy pontificating ad infinitum.  Maybe things would move along faster without so many words.  In the meantime, we watch as millions of dollars are spent (of taxpayer money) on endless investigations, time consuming arguments and the work of the people (us) is not getting done.

It seems to me that all of these brilliant men and women have forgotten their purpose for being in Washington.

We see two parties at each other’s throats – counting votes rather than looking at evidence or lack thereof – speeches filled with hate, anger and time consuming words. We also see a nation divided to a point where families and friends are refusing to talk to each other.  It makes me wonder if we will ever be the same as we once were.  A United States of America, one nation, under God with liberty and justice for all.

What it boils down to is this.  The Congress and the Senate members are elected officials.  If they aren’t working for the people, they should all be fired.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

Somehow we rebuilt after a four-year civil war. We got through Vietnam and Watergate. We will survive this crisis too, and in some way it will have made our country stronger and better (although it’s hard to see how that could happen just now). J.

  2. Amen, Kathy. It’s madhouse out there. The clowns are running the asylum. The voice of the people, people feeling heard by their government, people being able to choose their leaders in elections, is vitally important. I think many people don’t realize that trying to over turn an election is really dangerous, really destabilizing. People need to feel heard, to know they have some influence. If you constantly over ride that right to have a voice, people begin to feel powerless and powerless people are no longer invested in your establishment. We’ll get through this, we’ve survived worse. 🙂

I am confident that we’ll survive, but my confidence in the elected officials we the people voted for has slowly waned. Our rights are being laughed at and called “other nonsense” which makes me burn. Our prayers are certainly needed. This must end.

You are correct. Our elected officials should all be removed, as they no longer represent the people who elected them. They are spending millions of dollars that we will borrow from China to rig the presidential election. While the Dems say that Trump rigged the last one, never proven, the Dems make no bones about rigging this one. Even if they don’t remove Trump from office, they are hoping the swing states will have their doubts – Truth is totally gone, just a dense fog.

  4. Amen Kathy. I am sick to death of all the hearings but I am also sick about how Washington DC has become such a cesspool. Yes…it is time to be in prayer.
