ROOSTER ON THE LOOSE

rooster on looseORIGINAL ART & INSPIRATION FROM PAUL & KATHY BOECHER©

A lone rooster is on the loose, a sign of things to come,

He struts and dances to show off under the morning sun,

Cage freed for just a moment’s time to make his presence known,

The final glow of autumn’s light, upon his feathers shone,

The girls are quite amazed by him, he is a wondrous sight,

He preens and glistens in the sun, He knows how to excite,

The days will soon grow chillier, the nights are dark and cold,

But memories of the dapper bird, the hens will still behold,

A rooster on the loose you see, will always leave his mark,

And soon the remnants of his love ignite that magic spark.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

  1. This poem is beautifully light-hearted, Kathy! I love the way your wonderful sense of humor found its way into poetic verse!

First of all, great as usual Kathy. Now…I have to tell it. I love animals, and mostly they like me. In fact, I can often get along with dogs and cats that hate everybody. Even horses. Roosters, however, are another story. I work in a lot of places that have many animals, and often chickens are part of that. Roosters hate me. I have no clue why, but if there is a rooster around, it likely will assault me. I mean seriously attack, as in running up my body spurring me the whole say. It’s nuts, as I personally have nothing against them at all, but they absolutely hate me for some reason. I have actually been for real wounded by them, as it blood drawn. Crazy. How are you, my friend?

I don’t know how anything could hate you, but if they continue to bother you, I’ll make sure to make them the main course. I went in Friday thinking I had a kidney stone – which I’ve had before. They did a cat scan and didn’t find a stone but noticed a module on my lung which I need to follow up with. I’m being treated for kidney infection and the antibiotic is making me sick.

The nodule could be anything from scar tissue from pneumonia all the way to cancer. I’ll see my doc on Thursday and then a couple of specialists.

I’m Ok, cuz I know God is in control, but a little worried too. Thanks for your concern.
