Notice the smile on his face, the caressing of the brush between his fingers, the tender look in his eyes as he addresses yet another canvas. The artist is a special breed. They have come to observe life in a different way than the average person.  Each tile inserted into the mosaic of every day existence, becomes a part of a greater image.

We all have it within us to express our innermost thoughts, hope and dreams, but an artist has the special gift of being able to transport us to places we’d never thought existed.   A painter can mix a palette of amazing colors, apply them to a waiting canvas and create a pastoral scene, a landscape, a city scape and tell a story with shadows and light.  A writer takes ordinary words, enhances them with brilliant adjectives and creates lives and situations for us to become involved with.  A musician has the ability to make sounds that wrap us in a blanket of comfort or stir the imagination into tales of adventure and conflict.  The dancer uses his instrument to put the art of motion into action and lift spirits or stir the soul.

Whatever gift you possess as a person can be considered an art.  Maybe you have the gift of communication.  Perhaps you are one of those analytical types that thrives on numbers and data. Your ability to sell, to encourage, to inspire are all gifts from the Creator who made us.  We are His masterpieces and He certainly doesn’t make any junk.

Rejoice in your abilities.  Give thanks for them.  Use them and celebrate the artist within you.  We are all artists in our own right.

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on
