SO THIS BE MADNESS …

I’ve been trying to remain silent about all the hoopla over our president and the slings and arrows flying in his direction.  All of these diversion tactics draw us away from the truth in the form of fake news, insane attempts at comedy, making fun of him, pulling no punches when it comes to his family or his lifestyle.  In my opinion, it’s nothing more than pure and simple bullying – the one thing that liberals are good at.

So here I am again – after vowing to put on a happy face – screaming, ranting and spewing words of anger and rage.  I never should have tuned into the news.  I should steer clear of the internet.  I should just hide under my pillow with my happy face having no effect on anyone.

The truth is, we can’t hide from the horrid things going on in our world and in our own country.  The atrocities occurring around the world are countless.  People seriously are starving to death, being forced to deny their beliefs, living in squalor, poverty or addiction, being sold into sex trafficking and losing lives as martyrs.  These aren’t pleasant things to witness, but they are the truth of our world today.  Instead what is being focused on?

A comedian, trying to gain public attention, holds the head of a decapitated image of the leader of the free world, simply to get a laugh.  The president makes a typo in one of his tweets and the press is all over it.  All of us has done so, but we don’t see headlines about it.

A bus full of Coptic Christians in Egypt is destroyed because those within it won’t deny their faith in Christ. ISIS claims responsibility.  This story takes second place to the comedian.  A jury in Minnesota is being selected to prove that a cop acted in self defense and the media focuses on a video taken by the victim’s  girlfriend.  We don’t know how this will turn out, but why bias those who will judge him before he even goes to trial?

Our world has gone mad and these are just a few examples of the craziness.  This insanity can only be overcome by the consistency of One.  God has never changed in regard to what He expects from us.  He demands our obedience and respect and as a true Father, also loves us unconditionally in spite of all our madness.

The diversions of this world should never give way to the truth of God and His Holy Word.  Madness feeds on untruths or flashy headlines.  When we allow it to overtake us, we are allowing it to fester.  We get angry, we lose sight of the important things and many times succumb to the insanity.

1 Timothy 3:1-5   “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”

I feel better now!

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

  1. Kathy, I confess to a spirit of futility in the last few days. Yes, the world is truly going to hell in a hand basket. But, is it any different in our day than it was in the days of the prophets. The primary difference seems to be the immediate exposure we have from the various forms of media. and the advances made in armament over the centuries.

Sure we can go in and annihilate the current ISIS losers, but that will only last until the next batch of evil leaders musters some followers.

God help me not to be so cynical! You are still on the throne and in control.

You are so right. There will always be violence, hatred, deception and all those negative things. There is only One solution to this tale as old as time – God is in the throne and in control. Praise Him for his consistency ❤️

With my PTSD, I can only handle bits and pieces of the news. During the worst times, I avoid the news entirely. Ignorance really can be bliss! (Although I am sure that my 25-year-old granddaughter, who is finishing up her final year at Harvard and still manages to find time to march and protest, would disagree.)

The Lord Jesus warned us that in this world, we will have tribulations. But He also assured us that we can be of good cheer, because He has overcome the world.

A military base is located a few miles east of us. My stepdaughter works there. A bombing and artillery range is located a few miles in the opposite direction. We often see mile-long trains rumble past, loaded from one end to the other with military vehicles and weapons. It’s hard, in these surroundings, to maintain a spirit of peace — especially when the ground is shaking and our eardrums are vibrating from the “war games” being conducted at the range. But God’s word says that He will keep us in perfect peace if we keep our minds stayed on Him. On the days when I remember to do that, His peace never fails me!

I am waiting on the result of a biopsy that I had done during a surgical procedure on May 18. I hope that the lack of news so far, is good news. But even so, I am determined to trust the Lord Jesus, regardless of the outcome. I don’t know if I will ever learn to trust Him perfectly, in this lifetime. But His grace covers my imperfections. Praise be to God! 🙂 ❤

Oh, my sweet friend, I’m praying for good results on your biopsy. Whatever the result you know that God has a plan to use it on some way.

There are days when our trials get the best of us. I just get frustrated by all the distractions. Our country needs to move ahead rather than focusing on the insignificant nonsense of our world. Every once in a while I have to let off steam. I also believe that sometimes ignorance bliss, but it’s hard to hide from it.

Peace be with you. God has this!

  3. I join you Kathy 100% in your words and feelings—
it is pure unadulterated madness….laced with just plain ol evil…
Never in my wildest dreams, growing up in this country, would I have imagined
that we as a Nation would have allowed the likes of a “comedian” to hold up a decapitated bloody head of the current sitting president of the United States of America—
depravity hiding behind a liberal’s idea humor…I think it even worse than that.
God is still God…as He will always remain until time passes away…
but we have morphed or perhaps regressed is a better word, back into something that personifies ignorance, disrespect, hatred and pure depravity.
Left to our own devices, yes, we will destroy ourselves—it’s just a matter of time

  4. Amen! Good post. There is a fine line somewhere between looking around at the state of the world and remembering to focus on whatever is lovely, whatever is true….

We don’t want to totally disengage from the culture because somebody has to be out there letting people know there’s another way,a better way, Jesus. 🙂
