Frigid, Arctic air penetrates the skin like icy tendrils,

Unforgiving, blustery winds seals the cold deep within,

Each bone cries out for relief,

Each joint groans,

Each sinew tightens,

Alone within the remnants of his majestic nest,

Winter spins at an outrageous speed,

Sub zero temperatures are nothing,

Compared to excruciating wind chills,

Still he stands,

Overlooking his domain,

Even in darkness of night,

He is protected,

Those giant wings envelope him,

His feathers provide some semblance of warmth,

But to survive,

He must rely,

On his Creator.
