RANDOM THOUGHT – FROST

photo

Original art by Paul T. Boecher©

Sparkling facets of frost, scraped from windshields to get a clear view of the road, but do we take time to really inspect the beauty of it? The tiny patterns etched into ice by the finger of God Himself are just one example of His majestic power.

Each snowflake has it’s own pattern and becomes a kaleidoscope filled with intricacy. We rush through life without often noticing the many gifts given to us through nature. The sun casts a wintry glow upon frozen lakes, the sound of crunching snow crackles beneath our feet. The chill in the air enlivens every nerve in our bodies. All the senses are aroused. It’s winter. Soon it will be gone. It’s time to breathe it all in and enjoy it while we can.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

Good morning! Beautiful words and beautiful art!

Here in New Mexico our winter has been crazy. Christmas Day we had a high of 65 degrees. The day after Christmas we had a hurricane force blizzard with temps in the teens. The 2 day storm was so strong it blew a freight train off the tracks just 4 miles from our home.

Since then our weather has bounced all over the place. We have had many freezing days and nights, interspersed with many warm days with temps in the 50s and upper 60s. Yesterday morning, after a low of 9 the night before, as I was taking the dog out into the frosty air I saw a robin in our yard. He looked very confused!

But it is all beautiful. 🙂

I don’t think I would do well in a climate that changed so radically. I’m a creature of habit. Glad you have a bright outlook. That’s what keeps us going, right?

First off, thank you for the compliment on my blog! I do try to come up with interesting and helpful items. Secondly, I have written for years and managed to have one article published! It’s a very difficult business…

Find a publication which buys what you write best about and slant your material to their requirements. Even then it is a long shot, but you may meet with some success.

I have published my memoir, but I did it through a self publishing company. Did it more as therapy for myself and a brief history to leave my kids and grandkids. I write two full length plays a year for my children’s theater and also write short scripts for after school drama, but I’m often so busy writing, I don’t take time to work the system. I’m also reaching my 74 birthday. I appreciate your advice though. So many folks think when you’re in the arts, you’re just doing it as a hobby. I’m sure you understand. Thanks again for following me!

Well, you have done quite a bit of writing then. My one-timer was when I was writing for what’s called a “contents house.” They give people a million topics to write on and keep the rights to sell everything which is written by their “staff.”

Mine paid $20 dollars as I remember. I had several stories in the mix there, and it only takes one story and one publisher looking for a filler piece. But they were few and way too far between. I moved on in a few months.

Congratulations on your upcoming birthday! And thank you for your support as well. Good luck with things…

        Steve 🙂
