ADVENT

visitation-9

The process of having a child is an exciting time.  A new life growing within a young mom stirs all kinds of emotions.  One moment you’re thrilled with the prospect – the next second you’re fearful of the role you will play in that child’s life.  You’re on an emotional roller coaster most of the time.  Many times you experience morning sickness, depression, anxiety, and extreme concern for how you will provide for the new life  within you.

Imagine what Mary must have been going through in those early months of her pregnancy.  She was carrying the Son of God – God Himself – the breath of heaven – within her womb.  Her earthly thoughts concerning this had to be overwhelming. How would she explain this to her family and friends?  Could she escape the ridicule?  What would her future husband think?  Could she handle this gift from God with humility and trust?

As we celebrate this Advent season,  we can look forward to something very exciting and special. It is the anticipation we feel in knowing that our Savior God has come to take away our sin.

Mary and Joseph were assured by the angel, Gabriel, that the child would come to save the world.  He was the promised Messiah spoken of by the prophets.  Mary would be the vessel for this miraculous birth of the Son of God and Joseph would take the honorary place of step father.  Once they had that assurance, can you imagine their excitement?

Jesus  came for all mankind.  He is the something special hoped and prayed for.  He came, He suffered, He died, He rose from the dead and He returned to His heavenly throne to take His rightful place next to His Father. He will come again.  Let’s prepare our hearts for that day.  What a wonderful ADVENTure awaits us!

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

I can’t begin to imagine either what she must’ve been thinking. A miracle to begin with, a miraculous conception and the true Son of God!
