IT’S ONLY A TEST

testing

As a child, one of my greatest fears was taking tests. There were the usual tests in school, a test for a drivers license, a blood test and so on.  As I grew older, I thought the testing would end.  Little did know that this was just the beginning.

Life is a series of tests for us.  There are the interviews which test your capabilities – the trial of waiting for results from a MRI or cat scan – stretching a dollar from paycheck to paycheck – the loss of a loved one – the first few years of marriage – the failure of a business.  All of these can appear as negatives, but when you know what God has in store for you, these tests simply become challenges which make us stronger.

Many of God’s chosen people endured greater challenges than we’ll ever know.  They spent years moving from one country to another.  They could be considered the first real refugees as they faced enemy after enemy in search of the promised land.  They also turned away from God when they entered those new lands.  Still he caused them to return to Him.

God uses the trials and temptations of life to make us stronger, to prepare us for future disappointments and help us realize that our life here on earth is a temporary time of grace for us to serve Him and others.  Through them, we draw closer to God and do what He wants most from us – to lean on Him.

Today you’ll undoubtedly go through a test.  You may have to take a detour on your way to work.  You might discover something negative about your health.  You could face a serious loss and not be sure where you will wind up tomorrow.  Trust in the Lord to keep you strong, to be at your back and lift you up to the knowledge that He is in control.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

I still fight them. Especially the ones I know I can’t do well with. only with God’s support can I overcome any of them. Thanks for your support too!

Thanks for this. I read this just now as the sun is coming up, before getting out of bed. What a great message to read before starting a new day.

we have faced a lot of tests this year, and the best things we found are that they make us patient going through, and they bring us closer together.

I’m sorry my spell check is driving me crazy today. What I wanted to say was – as we get older we can look back and understand some of it. Most of the time I wonder when the tests will be over and I passed. Thanks for your comment. Hang in there. God is faithful

My friends, be glad, even if you have a lot of trouble. You know that you learn to endure by having your faith tested. But you must learn to endure everything, so that you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything (James 1:2-4 CEV).

I used to think ‘if only I can turn this corner, then I may find some peace.’ It may be true for a while, but another “test” is sure to come along before long.

Thank you for your support here as well!

Thanks for your comment, Steve. Life is one test after another. Each one becomes more difficult, but what a friend we have in Jesus. He is willing to take all our challenges on His shoulders. Hang in there. God won’t disappoint.

I believe that the point of challenges in our lives is to help us learn to trust in Jesus to help see us through. We are slow to learn that at times so we need challenges all the time!

Yes we are! Historians have noted that about the first century Christians…that we were willing to stand “to the death” for our faith!
