Today’s temperature in Minnesota is expected to reach 90 with a dew point in 70’s.  That means if you go outdoors for any reason, prepare to sweat.  I believe part of the wages of sin is sweat and have in these later years been more prone to it.  Today my husband, the artist, will begin a three day painting marathon in Hudson, Wisconsin.  Needless to say, I will not be going along on this adventure, but I ask that you all pray for his well being as this is how he makes his living and I know it will be by the sweat of his brow.

Paul is a true artist.  He began drawing and painting when he was just a boy.  His passion for the arts flourished in high school and he went on to college majoring in art.  His career took him through years of the very competitive advertising (Mad Man) business.  Later in his career, he created lovely works of sculpture and paintings to go into the homes and business of many.  These past few years he continues to WORK as an artist.  I say work, because many consider what he does as a hobby and it’s far from that – even though he obviously loves what he does.

So as the heat rises along with the humidity, I am confident that my husband will continue to do his work to the glory of God, who gave him the ability to praise Him in this special way.

“I am a poor man and of little worth, who is laboring in that art that God has given me in order to extend my life as long as possible.”  Michelangelo

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on

Good for you K and good for him. ‘In all labor’ there is profit,’ and it is a rare gift to be endowed in the arts. I have a friend who is a master painter and teacher, and I remember as kids, when we were playing ball every Saturday and what not, he was attending art classes.

His labor of 10, 20, 30, 40 years has rather payed off well, and not only is he renowned in his field, but he loves doing it.

I wish Paul the best of successes, as he already has. 😉

Thanks so much for your encouragement. I know Paul has a great future ahead, no matter if it’s through his art or through his faith. The two elements together have always been an important part of both of our lives.
