It seems each day brings more and more news of wars and terrorism.  Even in the safety of our  homes we are exposed to an evil world of hatred and anger.  It’s pretty hard to find any peace of mind when everything around you is anything but free from turmoil.

It can be difficult to walk through life with perfect peace, but wars and rumors of wars aren’t new.  They’ve been around ever since humanity fell into sin. People aren’t always satisfied with their own boundaries – many seek power by overtaking others and obtaining land – in some cases the call for a holy war becomes anything but holy.  People are destroyed, nations fall, calamity ensues and rationality takes a back seat.

So where do we go for peace when all of this is waging around us?  God tells us to come to Him.  He invites us to the security of His arms.  He cuddles us in His soft wings and let’s us know that we will be OK as long as we trust in Him.  Sounds too easy, doesn’t it?  Some might even say it’s foolish to believe in anything that isn’t right in front of your face.

As human beings we want to control things.  We don’t want to depend on someone else.  It seems useless to trust in something you can’t see, but that is exactly what faith is – believing something without any logical proof.  We may not be able to see God, but we have evidence of His existence in creation –  in the dawn of each day – in each birth that takes place – in the weather – in His Holy Word

We will never experience perfect peace in this world., but we can have a taste of it when we become acquainted with the Prince of Peace.

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on

You are right, we won’t have perfect peace until we live in heaven with our glorious Maker. But we can have comfort in knowing that He is still in control of all that happens here, and I say whatever does take place, my God will watch after me! His will be done always.

I know, right? We still can experience peace even in the midst of crises.

      • The True Light! says:

Of course we are cautious about our physical protection. But we are to be concerned first of all with preserving our spiritual state.

If we count on God to help us in both of these efforts, we can be joyous in every day, both on earth and in heaven.

I really love this post–peace can be difficult to find in this world but it is possible to find it through God. I believe it is impossible to find real peace in this world without Him. Thank you for sharing!
